TYN – This is a vision, inspired to take the Tiv race to the next level.
Taking the Tiv race to the next level is the primary objective of this organization; for the purpose of clarity however, it is imperative to determine or define what the “next level” means for the Tiv nation.
To come to a conclusion on what the next level means is a task I consider beyond any single individual. This notwithstanding, I will put forward in my opinion, and for the purpose of this organization, what I consider as relevant in determining the next level.
To effectively achieve this, I will analyse some key areas that border on the comfortable existence of mankind in general and the Tiv race in particular.
I will look at three key dynamics for the purpose of the said analysis with reference to the Tiv nation viz:
• Religious dynamics,
• Political dynamics and,
• Economic dynamics.
Religious dynamics
In my opinion, the next level in this area means such a level at which we allow our belief system and faith in our God to become the prime motivator of all actions, temporal and spiritual.
In this dynamic we will be analyzing our cultural systems with a view to determining the impact thereof, positively or negatively on our existence as a people.
We will then take strategic actions to control any anomalies arising there from, and work towards establishing correctness and normalcy where necessary.
Political dynamics
Here I see the next level as such a time when our political consciousness is so reformed that “killing one another” will no longer be necessary to ascend any political office of whatever status.
Such a level where the comprehensive ideals of democratic governance being, “the government of the people, by the people, for the people,” Abraham Lincoln, will be strongly entrenched in the mindset of every Tiv youth, male or female.
This is a level where the age long concept of “kase” as opposed to “Kamo” will be completely embraced by all, a time when “ayatutu ka uno^? Will be whole-heartedly responded to with a well-meaning “kase”
Economic Dynamics
The next level here means to me that level at which the better percentage of Tiv youth will be empowered to a level of mental and financial independence to a larger extent.
This is the level where our able-bodied young men and women will no longer be used as political “killing machines” on the one part, and prostitutes on the other hand; instead they will be economically empowered to do honest “stuff” with their hands and be more profitable to themselves, and the society at large.
The economic dynamics underscores all social issues that border on the mental empowerment, in the areas of educational support, and other social areas that bestows positive influences on humanity.
Conclusion
In conclusion, let me quote an anonymous, “Knowledge is power, information is valuable, a people who are ignorant of their past will always defile the present, and destroy the future.”
Taking a queue from this quote, I submit that, for any meaningful progress of any kind to be made, which the “next level” is all about, the need for retrospection can not be overemphasized, let us take it upon ourselves as facilitators, and coordinators of the “next level” agenda, to study, review,
and analyze all that have befallen the Tiv race, as far back as the annals of history will endow us, with a view to identifying our strength and weaknesses, so as to better position ourselves to launch forward, God helping us.
I will before rounding up, quickly by way of recommendation, suggest certain action groups, I consider relevant as pre-requisites to charting the course for the “next level” agenda of the organization TYN.
• STRATEGIC ECONOMIC ACTION, PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE.
• POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE.
• TARGETTED PRAYER ACTION COMMITTEE.
Explanation
• STRATEGIC ECONOMIC ACTION, PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE.
This action group or committee shall be saddled with the responsibility of enhancing infrastructural development in the entirety of the Tiv nation.
All matters relating to economic empowerment shall be addressed here.
• POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE.
All politicians, current and potential amongst us find expression here.
This group has the responsibility to give direction to the political machine that will contribute to taking the Tiv nation to the next level politically.
Here, well meaning politicians amongst us, aspiring for political offices will be given effective backup where necessary without been partisan.
• TARGETTED PRAYER ACTION COMMITTEE.
The need for this committee stems from several biblical injunctions, a few of which are quoted here:
• If my people who are called by my name shall humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, I will forgive them their sins, and I will heal their land. 2Chronicles 7:14 .
• Righteousness exalteth a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people. Proverbs 14:34
• And I sought for a man among them that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none. Ezekiel 22:30
Are you willing to take up this challenge from God, and stand in the gap to pray collectively for the Tiv land?
This is the place where all our spiritual friends, pastors, and other laymen, naturally find expression for their obligation to the land, and a responsibility to God.
